Satyam to Suspend Variable Pay From April

Satyam Computer Services Ltd. said it will suspend the variable pay component in its employees' salaries from April 1 as part of stringent cost-control measures to help revive the company. The move is also designed to make the company leaner and more attractive to potential buyers, say analysts.

Each employee will get only the minimum guaranteed 25% of the variable pay component of their respective salaries for the third quarter ended Dec. 31, and the current fourth quarter ending March 31, Chief Executive A.S. Murty said in a letter to staff, dated March 2.
