Wipro Tech Wins 5-Yr US Charming Shoppes Outsourcing Deal

India's Wipro Technologies, the information technology services business of Wipro Ltd., Tuesday said it has entered a five-year contract with U.S. apparel retailer Charming Shoppes Inc. to provide information technology services.

The company did not provide the financial details of the agreement in a statement. Under the deal, Wipro will be responsible for applications comprising stores, supply chain, merchandising, marketing and analytics, business intelligence and corporate systems, the Bangalore-based company said.

Charming Shoppes will maintain a viable ongoing IT operation in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, and retain key retail business and technical expertise, it added. Wipro is India's third-largest software exporter by revenue.
